Corporate Social Responsibility

As active members of the business community, we are recognised for our progressive views and boldness in adopting new initiatives, and we take that responsibility seriously. Frasers is actively involved in supporting local charitable organisations, schools, cultural events, sporting events, and finding ways to contribute to the success of others.

Our CSR programmer, The Frasers Foundation, is a token of our commitment to Vietnam and allows us to incorporate our social and community values in our day-to-day work.

The entire staff is committed to making a positive difference to the lives of those less fortunate, and as our firm grows, so to does our commitment to the community.

Law University Student Scholarships

Law University Student Scholarships

Bridging traditional school values and new world vision

The Frasers Foundation was launched by Frasers Law Company in 2005 as an umbrella foundation that would support worthwhile charitable and not-for-profit causes in Vietnam.

Our first initiative was to establish a scholarship programme for Vietnamese law students, recognising academic excellence and students in need of financial assistance. We believe that by supporting the legal industry at its roots, we are helping to strengthen the future lawyers and indeed the legal profession in Vietnam.

Each year, the Frasers Foundation presents awards to three outstanding students of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Law:

John Dick Summa Cum Laude Award for Achievement of the Best Overall Academic Results

Frasers Foundation Award for Achievement of the Best Overall Academic Results from the Commercial Law Faculty

Frasers Foundation Magna Cum Laude Award for Best Result for a Graduation Thesis

We also award the students with the best academic results in the first, second and third year classes.

Mai Nha Orphanage

Mai Nha Orphanage

Mai Nha was set up with two main objectives:

  • enabling orphaned children in Phan Thiet, Binh Thuan province, to grow up as a family; and
  • helping to improve the lives of the most deprived in the Phan Thiet community.

We have assisted in the application for various licences and permits (as well as assisting in the drafting of the internal regulations) relating to the establishment of this orphanage.

ProBono

Frasers believes in the importance of being active within our local community, and making an imprint by supporting local organisations that directly impact upon the livelihood of children and adults living in poverty in Vietnam. We actively encourage our lawyers to take part in ProBono work, and provide on-going support to numerous charitable organisations.

Sacred Heart Shelter

Frasers has contributed towards Sister Sheila O’Toole’s charitable works with the Sacred Heart Shelter, which assists vulnerable young women in establishing small project businesses, as well as their work with ethnic minority leprosy patients in Binh Phuoc province.

Saigon Children's Charity

Saigon Children's Charity

Saigon Children’s Charity was founded in 1992 “to help disadvantaged Vietnamese children to get an education and a fairer start in life.”

The key objectives of the organization are as follows:

  • building schools and improving existing ones;
  • providing training in English, computer skills, art, photography, and hairdressing, as well as hospitality training;
  • giving scholarships to disadvantaged children; and
  • helping small, front-line organisations working with children with disabilities with small grants, equipment, advice and training.

Frasers is represented on the Board of Trustees for the Saigon Children’s Charity where we provide pro bono legal advice for all of their various charitable initiatives aimed at alleviating poverty for children in Vietnam through education.

Sao Mai Orphanage

Frasers financed the building of the dormitory pavilion for the Sao Mai Orphanage, Pleiku, Central Vietnam in 2008. The dormitory shelters staff and orphans and it was gratefully welcomed by the Sisters who operate the Orphanage.

Sao Mai Orphanage was started by the Sisters of Saint Paul de Chartres, with a strong focus on providing education to all of its children.
